Platinum Education
Dana Walden jewelry is created using recycled metals from melted down, already existing supplies. By using recycled metals we help to decrease the global demand for newly mined metals, which come at a cost to our environment and our people. We encourage you to nourish your special union in a way that respects our environment and each other.
Purity
Our platinum
jewelry is 95 percent pure platinum combined with 5 percent
iridium, palladium, ruthenium or other alloys. The quality of our platinum is guaranteed and marked "Plat" on the inside of your ring.
Durability & Wear
Platinum is the metal of choice for most of our clients. The most appealing characteristic of platinum is its durability. It does not loose any metal when scratched and it does not wear away over time.
Though platinum is the strongest of metals, it will develop a patina over time. This means that subtle microscopic abrasions will give your ring a subtle brushed finish. This beautiful finish is one of unique draws of platinum. However, if you prefer a more high-polished look, a jeweler can polish your ring and re-store the original finish. In the meantime, polishing your ring daily with soft cloth can help you maintain the luster.
